Find Me in the Capture Outdoors Maryland 2014 Calendar
Checking my email today, I was pleasantly surprised to learn that one of my pictures was selected to be published in the upcoming Capture Maryland Outdoors 2014 Calendar.
Jefferson Hay field was one of the few chosen from 12,000 other photos submitted by Maryland photographers, with more than 40,000 local residents voting on which pictures would make the cut.
The photo contest was sponsored by Maryland Public Television, who is celebrating the 25th year anniversary of its award-winning broadcast series “Outdoors Maryland,” a program featuring beautiful photography and thoughtful scripting that captures the vast diversity and stunning beauty of the region.
Local photographers were asked to submit their photos on the Capture Outdoors Maryland website for consideration by area residents and selected celebrity judges who voted on their favorite entries. The result is a stunning 15-month calendar, featuring beautiful outdoor scenery in Maryland as seen through the eyes of the people who know it best.
In addition to the calendar, a 28-page hardcover coffee table book was published containing more than 200 high-quality photos from the overall collection. It is a very nice book with handpicked photos laid out by experienced artists and printed on heavy paper.
Considering the amount of talented photographers who submitted photos for this contest, I am honored to be ranked among them by the residents of Maryland.
